THE FINAL INSPECTION

I've had to work most Sundays,And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent,

 

 

Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep...Though I worked a lot of overtime, When the bills got just too steep.  And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.

 

I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't, I'll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. It's the Military, not the politicians, that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. It's the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag. If you care to offer the smallest token of recognition and appreciation forth Military, please pass this on and pray for our men and women who have served and are currently serving our country and pray for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

ANOTHER CANADIAN HERO LOST

 

Sgt. John Faught, 44, was killed by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan's Panjwaii district on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010. He is the 139th Canadian soldier killed since the mission began in 2001. (Canadian Press/Colin Perkel)

You know, Sunday, early morning I posted the death of Sgt. John Faught. That was it, I posted his death. I got the information from CBC News & I posted his death. 

While at church later on in the morning I received a very much clearer idea of what should go here instead of  just a post of a death. What about Sgt. Faught’s life? He was a career soldier. he was a family man. He worked his way up through the ranks.

 

 

You don’t get to be a Sergeant overnight. It takes, hard work, dedication, & something in you that others can see. Leadership! A leader is someone who can instil respect in the men & women who follow him. They follow him because they respect him, there is just something about him that would make his troops stay with him. That is not taught. It is a gift, which becomes noticed, a person can strengthen that gift over time, perfect it.

All of us who have been in the military knew a Sgt. Faught, at some time or another. It may have been during basic training, Battle training, or any other training one might have taken to earn their trade.

You may have met your Sgt. Faught after you were in for awhile, someone with the same or closely the same job as yourself.

While serious, while at work, Sgt, would mean business, no fooling around, oh,oh, no. He demanded 110% of you all the time. If you gave him 110% then he’d ask for 120%.  Something else about our favourite Sgt., he would not ask or demand anything from anybody else unless he was willing to do it himself. That is true of any great leader from the start of time. Notice I said GREAT LEADER.

 

Any educated idiot can pass the academic part of being a Cpl., a Sgt., or even an officer. Yes some of these folks do fall through the cracks. Not as many now as there was in my time. But  there still are a few.

While Sgt. is in his role of authority & teacher, you sometimes growl under your breath, he’ll get his, what is this guy trying to do, kill me. All of a sudden you find out he’s trying to keep you alive.

Although your Sgt. may be a mean son of a *#@$%^, you will follow him or her anywhere. You notice this Sgt. will always have time for a big belly laugh over a joke or a good prank he may of pulled off.

 

Yes we all know Sgt. Faught, that is why we are all grieving right now. We are grieving with Sgt. Faught’s Family & friends. Remember to be proud of your Sgt. as he was our hero.

DATE NIGHT

 

 

 

We received some Movie Money for Christmas, so Monday night we decided to use some of it. We have been wanting to go & see Avatar, but every show was sold out, we thought if we waited awhile things would slow down. Well they didn’t, so we got all set to go Monday night.

I went early Saturday & bought our tickets for Monday night. At least we had tickets. Monday afternoon we started to get things ready to go. Sharon had things all planned out. We went early to be sure we got good seats.

 

 

Although we had a long wait, I’m sure glad we went early & got our seats, because, yes, it was sold out again. It was worth the wait. Avatar was a stunning visual experience, & audio experience. It’s quite easy to see why it cost so much to produce. Every small detail was done with such care. I don’t know if there are really words to do it justice.

It was easily the best movie I have ever seen. The 3d effects were totally amazing. You felt like you were taking part in the movie, not just watching it. The sound track, what can I say, unbelievable.

 

 

You have to see it in the theatre in Reald 3d, to do it justice. To wait until it comes out on Blue Ray just won’t do it. I don’t care what size TV you have or what you have for a sound system, would not be the same.

 

 

We are planning to go see it again, we have never done that before, pay to see a movie twice at the theatre. We are going to do it. We’ll likely enjoy it more the second time.
